Alternate Health Clinics

Alternate Health plans to expand its CanaCard technology through a number of Alternate Health Clinics across
Canada to provide naturopathic medicines and other complementary solutions, including medical cannabis to patients who are looking for
better treatment methods for their ailments without the potential side effects of many prescribed pharmaceuticals

Alternate Health Clinics

Alternate Health will work in partnership with doctors and medical organizations to help establish clinics with the CanaCard Patient Management System as the administrative backbone to the operations.

These clinics will specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of ailments. Patients will be examined with an open mind and, in consult with specialists in naturopathy, acupuncture, physiotherapy and other alternative healthcare methods, will be prescribed appropriate therapies. Alternate Health clinics will represent the potential for significant additional options for patients that cannot be adequately treated with conventional health treatments.

As is standard practice, the doctor will assess the patient, provide a recommendation and a potential course of action, and if necessary, will provide a prescription. Recommendations will include naturopathic and complementary remedies, and may include a prescription for medical cannabis. According to Health Canada, there are approximately 40,000 qualified medical marijuana patients in Canada today and this number is expected to grow over 450,000 in the next 10 years. Alternate Health is preparing to support new patients who are looking for a solution to access and manage their health issues through our software and clinic models.

Premier CanaCard Licensee

The CanaCard system will be used to support the clinic as the EMR for all patients. The doctor registers a patient, documenting the relationship through built-in diagnosis and insurance billing codes and creates a custom recommendation and plan for the patient. Any products, both remedies and prescriptions, are recorded in the patient file, along with all of the personal and pertinent information to help the doctor devise the best possible plan for the patient’s medical conditions. All information and patient files are recorded, and the information is sent automatically to Alternate Health PIPEDA-compliant secure servers.

With minimal training the CanaCard system enables a doctor to engage in ongoing monitoring and management of patient prescription usage, as well as adjust recommendations based on the patient-reported experience and emerging scientific information.
